Margaret Hassel

Legal Fellow

Margaret is a Legal Fellow at the Constitutional Accountability Center. She graduated from Columbia Law School in 2024, where she received the Samuel I. Rosenman Prize and was a Max Berger ’71 Public Interest/Public Service Fellow. While at Columbia, Margaret served as Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Law Review and as a student attorney in the Community Advocacy Lab Clinic. She interned with Goddard Riverside Law Project, the Fair Housing Justice Center, and Relman Colfax PLLC.

Before law school, Margaret coordinated housing programs for survivors of domestic violence at an agency in North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree, with honors in economics, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead-Cain Scholar.
