On February 24, 2010, President Obama nominated Professor Goodwin Liu to fill a vacancy on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which CAC supported. However, on July 29, 2011, in the face of partisan obstruction by Senate Republicans, President Obama withdrew Liu’s nomination.
