ACS’s Oregon Lawyer Chapter presents “A Video Replay: ‘The Dirty Dozen’: The Worst Court Cases in the Modern Era?” The debate featured David Barron, Professor of Law, Harvard Law School; Doug Kendall, Founder and President, Constitutional Accountability Center; William Mellor, Co-Author of The Dirty Dozen: How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom, President and General Counsel, Institute for Justice; Ilya Shapiro, Senior Fellow in Constitutional Studies and Editor-in-Chief of the Cato Supreme Court Review, Cato Institute and was moderated by Amanda Frost, Associate Professor of Law, American University Washington College of Law. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Perkins Coie LLP, 1120 N.W. Couch Street, 10th Floor, Portland, Oregon. A reception with trial and appellate judges will follow the program from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend. 1.5 units of Oregon State Bar CLE credit are pending for the video replay.
