Peter C. Erichsen
Peter is a partner in the law firm of Ropes & Gray, where he is head of the firm’s Corporate Department and co-head of its Colleges & Universities practice. Peter worked at Ropes & Gray from 1981 to 1993 as a corporate transactional and securities lawyer, becoming a partner in 1990. He left Ropes & Gray in 1993 to serve as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice. In 1996-97, Peter was an Associate Counsel to President Bill Clinton, working in the White House Counsel’s office. He then served for four years as Vice President and General Counsel of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was chief legal officer of both the University and its four-hospital health system. Before returning to Ropes & Gray, Peter served for six years as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles. Peter is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
