RELEASE: CAC Marks the Passing of Walter Dellinger

WASHINGTONOn news of the passing of former Acting U.S. Solicitor General Walter Dellinger, who served on Constitutional Accountability Center’s Board of Advisors since its founding in 2008, CAC issued the following reaction:

“One of CAC’s biggest supporters when we began our work nearly 14 years ago,” said CAC President Elizabeth Wydra, “Walter Dellinger was a champion for the progressive promise of our Constitution’s text, history, and values. From his years as a law professor, to his service in government, to his leadership of the Supreme Court practice of one of the nation’s leading law firms, Walter had a tremendous legal career. And throughout his more than 50 years in the law, Walter worked tirelessly to make America more perfect. Making his loss that much more difficult, he was also just a delightful person. He will be dearly missed.

CAC Chief Counsel Brianne Gorod continued, “Walter was an exceptional advocate, scholar, and teacher—and an amazing mentor to those of us who had the good fortune to work with him. I will always remember fondly the tremendous energy, passion, and good humor he brought to everything he did.
