CFPB director fight expected to continue on to federal appeals court
CFPB Deputy Director Leandra English is expected to appeal her case to lead the consumer bureau to the U.S. District Court of Appeals in D.C., according to groups that support her claim.
A federal judge last night rejected English’s request for a preliminary injunction on President Donald Trump’s appointment of Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney as the financial regulatory bureau’s acting director.
“The legal fight from here is far from over,” said Brianne Gorod of the Constitutional Accountability Center, citing language in the Dodd-Frank law that created the bureau.
